Pensawel Midnight
2008 (Section D) Black gelding (August born)
Midnight came to us just after he was weaned at about six months old . A late foal, wintered in on his dam for his first winter, and loose barned with two companions for his second. He is good to groom, fine with his feet and is gelded and up to date with his tetanus jabs too. Regularly visited by the farrier, also routinely wormed.
Currently on haylage with a small amount of hard feed to meet his vit and mineral needs, with a bit of added limestone flour. He will probably turn out to be black although he'll be one of those that goes a bit brown in the sun and he will definitely turn out to be heeuge. As of January 2010, he is approx 14.2hh and he could well end up at over 16.0hh.
The first to come to say hello, he's a very nice natured animal. Not going to win many beauty pageants, but very nicely put together and certainly looks welsh when he is on the move. Very straight, no dishing or plaiting. I think he could turn his hoof to a variety of disciplines as his pedigree is packed with "fit for a job" cobs (see below photos for full details)
Given the choice of a very smart bay or this one, my daughter has decided that this is the boy she wants me to keep for her for the future and so for that reason, we are going to hold on to him for now and see how he turns out.
