Aberaeron Festival of Welsh Ponies and Cobs Photo shows Nebo Rachel (Nebo Daniel x Eugrad Dejavu) a 1997 Section C mare owned by the Nebo Stud, and as a former winner at the Royal Welsh in 1999,2003,2004 & 2009, one of many fine examples that came forward for the Ceredigion RWAS 2010 Appeal - Royal Welsh Winners Parade. The parade also featured 6 previous George Prince of Wales Cup Winners too which was a special treat. Many thanks to the show chairman Arwel Jones for permitting me to take photos from new exciting angles this year but also thank you to the owners of the exhibits of the more mature animals that took the time and added responsibility of getting these cobs ready for the show. It is a rare privilege to see these animals, and to be able to see how their characteristics have passed down through the generations, I hope my photos do them justice, I think when you consider that there are a few cobs that feature below safely into their 20s and more again not far behind, they are all looking very well indeed. Inter Hunt Relay
I've never stayed back at the end of a show to watch the inter hunt relay before. I can honestly say it was more exciting than the professional stunt team. All the competitors had a healthy disregard for their own safety, hooning about a course tighter than the ones my 8 year old designs in our garden, and some of the riders looked old enough to know better too. Excellent fun to watch, thoroughly recommend hanging back to catch it if you get a chance. N.B No foxes were endangered during this event.
